Code.org® is a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to computer science in schools and increasing participation by women and underrepresented youth. Our vision is that every student in every school has the opportunity to learn computer science, just like biology, chemistry or algebra.

Khan Academy


Khan Academy Daily Schedules for School Closures

Khan Academy offers no‐cost YouTube instructional videos in a wide range of content areas, including all levels of mathematics, English language arts, science, history, computer science and programming, and SAT preparation. Content is aligned with state curriculum standards, and parents can view and track their children’s progress. Khan Academy is widely used in schools across the country and can be a great resource for in‐home learning.

Lumosity

Lumosity offers free brain games to keep student minds actively engaged. The games use problem solving, critical thinking, and memory to keep students on their toes and strengthen their skills.

Mystery Science School Closure Resources

(MRU) – Economics isn’t always taught at the K‑12 level, but the dynamic, self‐paced introductory economics courses offered for free through MRU are likely to pique your older child’s interest. These are also great classes for you to learn alongside your child.

PBS LearningMedia provides students with free lesson plans, videos, and games aligned with standards they are learning in the classroom.

Prodigy (1st-8th)

Prodigy Math Game is a fantasy-based web and app game that covers skills learned in grades one through eight. 

Renaissance Learning

Access for taking Accelerated Reader tests at home (elementary).

Smithsonian Institution

Many museums, including the Smithsonian Institution and especially its open access Learning Lab, offer free, online resources and activities for learners. Check out the websites of your favorite museums to see what free, digital education tools are available.

StorylineOnline Reading (TK-5)

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s award-winning children’s literacy website, Storyline Online, streams videos featuring celebrated actors reading children’s books alongside creatively produced illustrations.

 

 

TEDEd

TEDEd brings lessons to life for students through animation.  TEDEd collects the best teacher lessons around the world, and then it turns them into shareable animated videos for students.

Varsity Tutors

Virtual School Day is a free resource that includes an individualized curriculum of live, online classes and educational resources intended to help keep students engaged. Resources include:

   • 30 hours a week of online instruction that is free, high-quality, live, and interactive

   • Adaptive assessment tools to help parents build grade-appropriate learning plans

   • Supplementary learning content that includes practice problems, quizzes, and flashcards

   • Editorial content designed to aid parents during this unprecedented time

YouCubed is a free K-12 math resource from Stanford University's Graduate School of Education. Tasks are activities that can be filtered by grade, level of difficulty, concept, MP standard, and topic. They can be downloaded as PDFs.
